RJ attended Baker College and graduated with an AS in Computer Science. She has just completed Harvard University’s Negotiation Mastery Certificate program and been admitted to Harvard University to pursue a Master’s degree. Rj has been nominated for the Leaders Under 40 Award by the Leaders Sports Awards (2021) and is considered one of the top ten most influential black women in the world.

Basketball Vipers, a Professional Men’s Team
The Vipers have made quite an impression since their 2014 inception in Lake County, Illinois. The team’s mission is to help players develop into strong men and influential members of their communities. The Vipers utilize the curriculum to improve their skills, knowledge, and leadership. They get the maximum exposure possible and have several chances to advance to the next level of competition.
The Goal
basketball as a means of uniting people of all ages in a positive, supportive community dedicated to player development, working to boost each player’s sense of competence and worth through drills and games that emphasize fair play and sportsmanship.
for the purpose of instilling in young people a sense that it is acceptable to strive for greatness, to maximize education, to never engage in bullying, and to remain drug-free; in other words, to teach sportsmanship and values like loyalty and integrity.
Vipers has accomplished its goal of providing a low-cost and exciting place for families to spend time together.
Sports Leadership
Proper leadership is essential for success in any sector, but especially in sports. RJ has always had confidence in her own leadership abilities, which prompted her to pursue a career in the field. She thinks that witnessing your efforts pay off is a great source of motivation since it proves that your efforts were worthwhile.
Confronting Adversity: The Zone Defense
Professional male basketball is played in the American Basketball Association. It’s the world’s biggest and most varied professional sports league. Without rivalry, there would be no sport. RJ’s biggest challenge so far in her athletic career has been dealing with fierce competition. Nonetheless, she is much more resilient now. When asked for advice, she said, “My valuable lesson is to be careful with whom you do business and be sure you are networking with the right people.”
Transformation of Sports Ownership
RJ has shown that women can be promoted to leadership positions by becoming the youngest owner of a professional men’s basketball team. They can improve their communities, their groups, and even the world at large. RJ monitors the Vipers to make sure they stay true to their goals. The group takes trips throughout the globe to expose itself to other cultures and ideas in an effort to spark creativity.
Ready to win the title
RJ is well aware of the extent to which her decisions as CEO affect Vipers’ future. She establishes responsible leadership to guarantee the group realizes its objective and keeps pace with evolving business practices.
Her duties include of making sure the season, conference calls, appearances, games, employee education, and brand building go off without a hitch. She is relentless in her efforts to ensure the Vipers have a successful season and are poised to win the title.
She brings something fresh and exciting to the group. The Vipers’ roster and coaching staff are a diverse bunch, with members having played at the streetball, recreational ball, organized ball, D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and juco levels, among others. They’re contributing members of society who also happen to have a BS under their belts. Most of the players want to play professionally in another country so that they may provide for their families by doing what they love.
Maintaining Your Drive
To win a championship, you need to put in the time and effort, but you also need time to relax and get your life in order outside of work. RJ always finds time for her loved ones and for herself to recharge and reflect. She finds this encouraging. She knows that keeping her team engaged is crucial to their success in the competitive sports sector. She provides perks for the Vipers’ players including trips where they may bring their family along. This has shown to be the most effective method of maintaining their interest and ensuring that everyone is still having a good time.
Future Prospects
RJ plans to buy an NBA franchise as part of his long-term strategy to expand Vipers abroad. Her long-term goal is to buy an international professional men’s sports club and establish her dynasty there. Women who want to succeed in business, she says, should “create your own trail, blaze that trail, always stay motivated along the way, and remember you are the company that you keep.”
